Volunteer

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting the mission and success of SOF Week. Together, we make it possible to deliver an unforgettable event that reflects the excellence and dedication of the SOF community.

Whether you’re a returning volunteer or joining us for the first time, we invite you to get involved and be part of this incredible experience. 

We count on our amazing volunteers to make SOF Week a success! Please do your best to attend your scheduled shifts. If you miss shifts without notice, it may impact your ability to join our team for future events.

DATES:
13 JAN: Interest form launch
1 APR: Volunteer registration and role selection notification 
1 MAY: Shift confirmation and pre-event brief will be sent

Volunteer Assignments Include:

  • Assist with attendee traffic flow 
  • Awards Ceremony set up/tear down
  • Transportation support to and from Outpost 
  • Serve as a runner 
  • Cape Demo crowd control 
  • Mission: Merch swag store support 
  • Non-profit Round Robin

By serving as a volunteer, you agree to:

  • Commit to a minimum of 4 volunteer hours during SOF Week, either in the morning or the afternoon.
  • Register as a SOF Week attendee via the Volunteer pathway, and agree to the admission policies.
  • Wear the official volunteer shirt provided during your shift(s).
  • Attend a pre-event virtual volunteer meeting, scheduled for the week of May 11.
  • Please arrive 1 hour before your scheduled volunteer shift to receive training in the assigned area.

As a volunteer, you will receive:

ROLES AND DESCRIPTIONS:

Please note that the following are example descriptions, and the roles may be subject to change.

Move-In Support:

  • Organizing supplies and materials
  • Some lifting and moving of boxes

Registration Support:

  • Located at registration locations
  • Hang lanyards
  • Help with traffic flow

Directions and Information:

  • Located at the primary entrances
  • Distribute information sheets
  • Campus Maps to answer FAQs

SOF Week Welcome Reception:

  • Supporting final phases of set-up
  • Providing attendees with directions and information

Mission: Merch:

  • Organize and re-stock shirts in the swag store
  • Assist with queue control
  • Answer questions about the merchandise

Crowd Control, CAPE Demo:

  • Assist in high traffic areas
  • Manage VIP viewing areas

Non-Profit Round Robin:

  • Support presentations
  • Assist with the voting process

Awards Ceremony and Dinner Setup:

  • Assemble centerpieces
  • Support vendor setup

Media Support:

  • Support arrival and registration for Media attendees
  • Support PR Rep
